What are galaxy tattoos?
The galaxy and space tattoo category mostly include animals and nature with cosmic elements. These elements include but are not limited to nebulas, planets, stars, constellations, and celestial things. Sometimes they may also include astronauts, spaceships, aliens, UFOs, and other space-related elements.
In a lot of my galaxy tattoo work I use a double-layer process where I tattoo a tattoo on top of a tattoo. I do this to build depth and dimension of outer space and to color layer so that you get the best end result, which is why a lot of these tattoos are listed as multiple sessions. Galaxy tattoos incorporate both aspects of glitter tattoos as well as color realism and watercolor. I love the blend and mix of styles to create a truly unique piece. For something bolder, I like to use neo traditional linework (thicker black linework) to contrast the subject matter from the background. I also love to incorporate "shadow elements" into my pieces, such as trees, skylines, or other bold black areas of ink that contrast the bright sparkly colors.
Galaxy tattoos can be done in a variety of color pallets, ranging from rainbow to green/blue/purple, pink/blue/purple, red/green/yellow, or a custom coloration of your desire. White ink is used to create the star elements over-top of all the color. When healed, the white will blend with the base color, making it less "white" and more a lighter pigment of the color underneath. In some instances, white will be over skin tone, which will fade into a shade lighter than your current skin tone. However, during a touch up session, I can always go over the white elements once more to make them pop again.
